William “Bill” Miller is a retired, 30-year career, U.S. Air Force and Maryland Air National Guard Senior Master Sergeant. During his Air Force and Air Guard career, he deployed around the world, but primarily to Germany, Italy, and Saudi Arabia in support of U.S. interests overseas. Bill started his career as an aircraft mechanic, then moved to Logistics Support, and finally ended up his career specializing in Human Resources and led specialized personnel teams into various war zones. His last overseas duty assignment was Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia as a Persco Team Chief. Bill was awarded numerous Federal and State military awards during his years of service to include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with a “V” for Valor and the Expeditionary Service Medal to name a few.
Bill joined the VFW in 1997 and is a VFW Gold Legacy Life member, a Life member of the VFW National Home, VFW Maryland Past State Commander 2017-18, 3 time Past All State Commander, Past Service Officer for VFW Department of Maryland District 7, Current Service Officer for VFW Post 521, Past Trustee for the VFW Department of Maryland, the current VFW VAVS Representative for Green Street VA Hospital, the Current VSO for the VFW and Past National Deputy Chief of Staff and Past National Aide-De-Camp. He is a 4th Degree member and Past Grand Knight and District Warden of the Knights of Columbus, a Life Member and Past Commander and Service Officer of American Legion Post 122 a Life member of AmVets Post 6 and is also currently a member in good standing of the Catholic War Veterans Post 1961.
Bill is also currently serving our veterans as the 2019-20 Chairman of the Joint Veterans Committee of Maryland, and as the Wreaths Across America Location Coordinator for Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery in Owings Mills, Maryland at which 17,730 wreaths were placed in 2019.
Mr. Miller resides in Reisterstown Maryland with Penny, his wife of over 43 years.
