Women Veterans United Committee, Inc.’s purpose is to address quality services, advocate, coordinate, raise awareness, and provide information to ensure needs are met for Women Veterans. This includes getting quality health care and benefit services, information, filing claims, and programs for Women Veterans. We will serve as an advocate for a cultural transformation (within VA, veteran service organizations, and in the general public) in recognizing the service and contributions of ALL Women Veterans and ALL women in the military. Raising awareness of the responsibility to treat Women Veterans with dignity and respect throughout including bringing awareness and information as we educate on Women Veterans’ military contributions.
Other services include working with and coordinating the Veterans Administration, Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs), other organizations, and stakeholders on their delivery of benefits and services to Women Veterans. We will liaison with other Federal, state and local agencies, VSOs, and non-government partners. Ensure that outreach materials portray and target Women Veterans with positive images, messages, and branding in the media. Promote recognition of Women Veterans’ military service and contributions by sponsoring activities and special events. Promote family unity and encourage male and female involvement.
Our programs include sending out ambassadors to raise social consciousness about the cause on a local and national level, and to hold fundraising events in order to provide immediate relief and assistance to those Women Veterans in need of assistance regardless of their age, sex, race, religion, national origin, and sexual orientation.
