On the Hill
Women Veterans United Committee, Inc. (WVUCI) annually sets a priority to highlight, promote, and support legislation that addresses the unique needs of women veterans and their families. WVUCI remains vigilant in providing a voice for women veterans by advocating for programs, research, and healthcare that meet the requirements for the health and wellness of Women Veterans. We understand the importance of providing outreach and mentoring Women Veterans through transition and providing careful follow-up for the whole veteran family. The On the Hill Program invites Women Veterans and others in key positions to speak on the topics of most importance to our needs. Veteran Service Organizations are invited to support this event with presentations and speakers.

Breast Cancer
Breast cancer is a serious concern of Women Veterans United Committee, Inc. because the role of military women has significantly expanded throughout history, most notably with their inclusion in combat assignments. An important consideration of expanded duties is the introduction of additional health risks. Working in these dangerous environments often includes exposure to toxins, which may elevate the risk for developing cancers. (Elevated Breast Health Concerns for Servicewomen and Women Veterans. GE Health. 2020May19.)
Annual Breast Cancer events are held to bring information to women, women veterans, active-duty women, etc. More will be done to encourage information, testing, and awareness for our women veteran.
